L.A. native, Monica Varela has been practicing skincare & brow artistry over 14 years. She is an accomplished Brow Specialist, Certified Dermalogica Skincare Expert and Certified Microblading Artist. Her experience in perfecting her signature “naturally-defined brow” began as a makeup artist working with a diverse clientele from music videos, film, weddings and salons, to becoming a traveling brow artist from L.A. to San Francisco.

Today, Monica is the proud owner of The Brow Foundry, a curated brow & lash studio in the heart of Old Pasadena. A foundry for talented artists and a safe space for all guests to connect, relax, vibe and feel their best.

As a Brow Specialist, Monica makes it her priority to continue education to progress with the growing industry. She always encourages her clients to grow their brows to their fullest potential while keeping them structured, bold and natural for either the art of Brow Shaping, Henna Brows, Lamination or Microblading. She believes true brow artistry brings balance, proportion and attention to detail to achieve the most beautiful naturally defined brow.

Nydia’s creativity and passion for helping others led to her transition from the hospitality industry into the world of beauty. After earning her cosmetology license in 2012, it didn’t take long for her to find her passion in lashing.

As a certified lash artist, Nydia specializes in the safe and damage-free application of extensions while maintaining the health of the natural lash. Each extension is meticulously applied using a combination of technical and artistic skill. Nydia strives to make every guest feel welcomed and comfortable so you are sure to leave Strokes & Lashes with a positive experience and a new attitude!
